Hugh MacDonald is the founder and owner of Precision Aerial Services, LLC, a Part 137 agricultural application company specializing in state-of-the-art drone technology for precision crop treatment. With over five decades of agricultural experience, Hugh has dedicated his life to supporting farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses through innovation, hard work, and a deep respect for the land.
Hugh’s agricultural roots run deep, beginning with his early years on family farms in Arkansas, where he gained a firsthand understanding of row crop and livestock operations. He later grew up immersed in the Florida citrus industry, working alongside family and neighbors in the groves of Thonotosassa, Florida. Surrounded by friends and family who are deeply involved in agriculture, Hugh developed not only the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the industry but also a profound appreciation for the farming way of life.
A second-generation farmer, Hugh pursued his passion for agriculture academically, earning a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Operations Management from the University of Florida. This education, combined with decades of practical experience, allows him to bridge the gap between traditional farming practices and modern agricultural innovation. Hugh has also gained extensive expertise in both Florida and Arkansas farming systems, including the mechanical, technical, and operational aspects of production agriculture.
Guided by a deep faith in God, Hugh’s leadership is rooted in service, integrity, and a commitment to helping others thrive. His mission at Precision Aerial Services is to provide farmers and ranchers with cutting-edge tools like drone-based crop applications to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and protect vital resources, while honoring the values that have sustained agriculture for generations.
In addition to founding Precision Aerial Services, Hugh is a serial entrepreneur, having established three other successful companies in wholesale, retail, and construction services. His diverse business background gives him a unique perspective on the economic challenges and opportunities facing rural communities today.
Hugh and his wife of 35 years live in Dover, Florida, where they manage their family farm raising produce and cattle. Agriculture is truly a family endeavor, with his in-laws also deeply invested in farming and cattle operations in Kentucky. Hugh and his wife are blessed with two beautiful daughters, who continue to carry forward the family’s legacy of faith, perseverance, and service.
A licensed commercial aerial pesticide applicator, commercial remote pilot, and general aviation pilot, Hugh combines his aviation expertise with agricultural innovation to bring safe, sustainable, and highly accurate aerial application solutions to his clients.
For Hugh, agriculture is more than a business—it is a calling. His work reflects a lifetime of experience, a strong foundation of faith, and an unwavering commitment to the farmers, ranchers, and communities he serves.

Precision Aerial Services, LLC (PAS) was founded out of a shared vision between Hugh MacDonald III and Chase A. Haley to revolutionize agricultural application in Florida through cutting-edge drone technology.
Hugh began exploring UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) applications over 13 years ago, recognizing the incredible potential for drones to transform how farmers manage crops and resources. In 2023, with Chase’s partnership and support, they officially launched Precision Aerial Services, serving farms, ranches, and agricultural industries throughout Florida.
Since its founding, PAS has successfully completed thousands of acres of application work, continually refining techniques and developing new methods to meet the diverse and ever-changing needs of Florida agriculture. From crop protection to specialized application strategies, Hugh and Chase are committed to staying at the forefront of technology while maintaining the highest standards of safety and precision.
Both Hugh and Chase are deeply rooted in the agricultural community, not only as service providers but also as educators and facilitators. They actively teach and mentor others, helping farmers, custom applicators, and industry professionals understand and adopt UAV technology. Their vision for PAS extends beyond providing application services—they strive to equip others to perform their own drone-based applications or even start their own agricultural application businesses, creating a ripple effect of growth and innovation across the industry.
